  1. To Hope and back is a great book, right from the beginning. The title. It very efficiently describes the main idea of the book, German Jews are traveling to Cuba (to hope), but they are sent away, no longer welcome. I admire the author's story choice, because before this book, I had never heard about the journey of the St. Louis. My favourite part of the book was that it was based on the lives of two people, as kids, so they both thought in similar ways to me, and played and had adventures aboard the ship that I felt I was a part of too. The book clearly brought out the injustice of the situation, which I thought was important. I didn't however, think that the choice of pictures was correct. It may have been hard to find photos, but when there was a large crowd, I found it hard to point out the people, I think they should have circled the people or not pointed them out at all.

  2. This book reminds me of the movie Titanic and how the men and women died when the Titanic sank in the ocean. This book has a really attracting cover to me because this looks like true story and I will like to read this book.

  3. the hope and back is a really good book because its non fiction and i like non fiction books also this book is like the titanic and i like how Kathy Kacer described the book. The part of the book that i really liked was when Iisa and Sol met and the part that was really interesting the back part of the book was when you said the Germany was attacking the Jewish and i think that was mean of the Nazis also one question Kathy Kacer is hittler involved in the attack of the Nazis and the Jewish
Thank you very much for writing this book.
