  1. The Mighty Miss Malone was an amazing book. Christopher Paul Curtis effectively brought through a clear message about freedom and rights. Deza Malone is strong-willed and persistent, and although she is also thoughtful and kind, I am glad that the author did not make her have an easy life. This really helped the book seem realistic. What really made the book stand out for me was the mix of humour, sadness and perseverance. However, I found that the language was sometimes hard to understand, and the book was set in a period that I don't know very much about. I think it would have helped if the author or an editor had provided an introduction or prologue, then I would have known a bit more about the events that occur in the book (without having to look things up.

  2. This is a realistic book like Isabeau said it helps the book seem like it is real. This book wasn't the best book i have read. I didn't really like it because at the beggining and end of the book it was very entertaining but near the middle i found it a bit boring. Also like Isabeau there was a part in the book wherei couldn't understand half the words they were saying.
